What You'll Do
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide project engineering support to Project Managers throughout all phases of renewable energy construction projects.
- Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and related documents for completeness and constructability.
- Coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation.
- Assist with procurement activities, purchase orders, subcontract administration, and material tracking.
- Assemble bills of material and coordinate material deliveries with vendors and field teams.
- Assist with project scheduling, forecasting, planning, and project reporting.
- Support project cost tracking, change orders, budgeting, and documentation.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership.
- Participate in project meetings, including scheduling, planning, budgeting, and two-week look-ahead meetings.
- Perform field visits and quality control inspections as needed.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering, prefabrication, and process improvements.
- Assist with project closeout activities, including punch lists, as-built drawings, warranties, and final documentation.
- Mentor Project Engineer I employees and provide guidance to project support staff as appropriate.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Travel to remote project sites for extended assignments, up to 10 months per year, as project needs require.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate:
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of electrical construction practices and renewable energy projects.
- Can interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and electrical plans.
- Possesses strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Successfully manages multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Communicates professionally with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
- Enjoys collaborating with project teams while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
Experience & Education
- 1–4 years of electrical project engineering, project coordination, or electrical estimating experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred; or completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, drawings, specifications, and industry terminology.
- Experience coordinating RFIs, submittals, procurement, project documentation, and change orders preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with construction management software such as Bluebeam, Procore, Spectrum, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel to project sites and wear required PPE.
- Ability to stand and walk on active construction sites for extended periods.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders and safely navigate construction environments.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to review project plans, specifications, and technical documents for extended periods.
- Regular, reliable attendance.
