Welder
Description
We are looking for a welder to join our Fabrication Department. The Welder will read and interpret drawings and determine appropriate welding method and equipment to be used based on requirements. Welders are responsible for maintenance of the machines and equipment used in their work. Welder is responsible for ensuring the correct welds are used to meet the product specifications, take measurements and plan layout. They must be able to concentrate on performing tasks and commit to safety rules. They should have a positive, can-do attitude. Responsibilities
- Observe safety requirements and regulations.
- Maintain a neat, clean work area. Remove hazardous or obsolete material.
- Plan, assemble and fabricate products according to specifications.
- Handle and transport materials and equipment.
- Follow drawing specifications.
- Use power tools and machinery when needed (e.g. grinders, saws, fork lifts, cranes, etc).
- Take accurate measurement using calipers, and other measuring tools.
- Keep required records and maintain inventory of welding materials. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- Provide guidance and training to others.
- Inspect products for quality.
- Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions to Production Manager.
- Maintain punctuality and daily time records.
- Other duties as required within scope of work.
Requirements
- Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, etc.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds etc.)
- Attention to detail
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety rules
- Maintain welding certifications
- Must speak, read and write English.
- US Citizen or valid work authorization
Salary & Benefits
- Hours of operation: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Available to work 10-20 hrs per week. Hours may vary.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
