Responsibilities
- Assist lead instructors in conducting karate lessons, sports drills, and physical education activities tailored to children’s age groups.
- Support children in learning martial arts techniques such as punches, kicks, stances, and forms with clear guidance and encouragement.
- Help manage behavior and promote positive conduct during classes to foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including proper use of equipment and supervision during activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and behavior when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the activity space, equipment, and training areas.
- Support the development of team-building exercises in sports like soccer, basketball, cheerleading, climbing or other physical activities.
Requirements
- Previous experience in martial arts such as karate or other sports-specific training instruction is highly desirable.
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings.
- Knowledge of sports coaching techniques including soccer coaching, basketball, cheerleading or climbing is a plus.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to communicate clearly with children, parents, and team members while demonstrating enthusiasm and patience.
- Lifeguard experience or swimming skills are advantageous but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage behavior effectively and promote positive engagement among students.

Pay: $24.69 - $29.73 per hour
