Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including but not limited to teeth cleaning, scaling, and polishing
- Conduct patient assessments and oral screenings
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide personalized oral care instructions
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Assist the dentist during procedures, including providing suction and passing instruments
- Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile and safe environment
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective patient care
- Stay informed about advancements in dental technology and techniques
Requirements:
- Valid dental hygiene license in [state]
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Proficiency in using dental office software systems for scheduling, charting, and billing
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Experience working with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions and restorations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of medical documentation requirements and ability to maintain accurate records
