L&M Sound & Light is a full-service live event production company specializing in professional audio, lighting, video, and event technology. We support weddings, concerts, corporate events, schools, houses of worship, and special events throughout the region. We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving logistical challenges. This role is responsible for keeping our warehouse, equipment, crews, and event logistics operating efficiently while ensuring every production is executed to the highest standard.
What You'll Do
As the Operations Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operational side of the business by coordinating crew scheduling, transportation, warehouse operations, equipment readiness, and event logistics. You will be directly supporting project managers, warehouse personnel, and field technicians to ensure every event is prepared, delivered, and completed successfully.
Essential Responsibilities
Operations & Logistics
● Manage daily production operations for multiple simultaneous events.
● Coordinate equipment allocation, transportation, and production logistics.
● Supporting and executing pre-production needs pertaining to each project.
● Ensure projects leave the warehouse complete, organized, and on schedule.
● Monitor warehouse workflow and equipment readiness.
● Develop and improve operational procedures and standard operating practices.
Project Coordination
● Collaborate with project manager(s) during pre-production.
● Review labor requirements and equipment needs.
● Source, schedule, and coordinate all freelance and subcontracted labor, ensuring clear
communication of call times, job details, and event requirements.
● Assist in estimating labor and logistical costs.
● Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
● Understanding and clearly communicating project expectations.
Warehouse & Inventory
● Supervise warehouse organization and inventory accuracy.
● Manage fleet scheduling and transportation logistics.
● Coordinate equipment maintenance, testing, and repair schedules.
Continuous Improvement
● Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and workflow.
● Develop scalable operational systems to support company growth.
● Track operational metrics and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
Required
● 3+ years of experience in operations, logistics, warehouse management, event
production, or a related field.
● Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
● Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
● Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
● Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred
● Experience in live event production, AV rental, entertainment production, or production
logistics.
● Experience with Rendering Software (CAD, Vectorworks etc.)
● Experience with rental management software such as Flex Rental Solutions or Current.
● Experience with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
● Familiarity with professional audio, lighting, video equipment.
Schedule
This is a full-time position based in our warehouse, working Monday–Friday from 9:00am–5:00pm in our office space, where a dedicated desk and iMac desktop will be provided. While standard working hours are 9–5, this role requires flexibility and responsiveness outside of those hours, including evenings and weekends, to support production needs, freelance crew coordination, and management requests—particularly during our peak busy seasons in May and September when event volume is highest.
Compensation & Benefits
● Annual salary: $65,000-$80,000
