El Camino preschool is family owned and operated with a long standing exceptional reputation in North County- and we have our long waitlist to confirm this! Long ago we brought our focus to the outdoor classroom to take advantage of our natural expansive play areas and sunny California weather. Virtually everything available to explore and do indoors is outdoors as well. We aim to be the BEST early childhood program in the area, so we only hire the best!

Requirements
- A minimum of 12 Early Childhood Credits REQUIRED (including Child/Fam/Comm, Child Dev, and a curriculum course). Courses in progress will be considered.
- The ability to work until 4pm most days of the week
- Ability up to lift 30lbs
- A GREAT attitude and ability to be a team player and teacher.
- A basic knowledge of Early Child Development with the understanding that our ultimate goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of each child we're entrusted with.
- EC Teaching Experience is a big plus!
Our PreK teachers must have a great love and patience for children, and carry a good amount of energy into each day. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include: knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods, as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention, and the willingness to get down to their level and be one of their first , amazing friends!
Responsibilities
- Execute an imaginative and creative program suitable for preschool children aged 2-4yrs.
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children.
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem.
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities
- Engage and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times.
- Communicate with parents regularly through our school wide app
- Collaborate with other educators.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and sanitized classroom consistent with current and ongoing health and safety standards.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Preschool or PreK Teacher
- Clear understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as mediator between children
- Imaginative, friendly, and reliable
- Certification in child First Aid and CPR preferred
- ECE units to qualify as a Lead Preschool Teacher
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.50 - $23.00 per hour
