American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level I trauma academic medical center requiring an active SC or Compact RN license and scrub experience.

,-suite Main Operating Room within a level-one, academic trauma center covering all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics

Nursing team is 75% RN and 25% Certified Surgical Technologist with RNs trained to both scrub and circulate

Uses EPIC EMR
-
Day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
-
On-call requirement of up to 4 shifts every 4 weeks
-
Weekend requirement of up to one working shift every 4 weeks
-
Floating required within scope to like units and sister facilities
-
N active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
-
BLS certification required (AHA only)
-
Radiation badge required, provided by the agency
-
2 years of OR experience strongly preferred
-
Scrub experience strongly preferred
-
Level I trauma center experience preferred

EPIC charting experience preferred

Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, and Magnet-designated hospital

Nurse-driven, dynamic department utilizing cutting-edge surology

Required to work at least one holiday period, either Christmas (Dec 24-26) or New Year's (Dec 31-Jan 1)

Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, dependent on unit needs

Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis

Radius rule of 60 miles applies, with non-local candidates prioritized

First-time travelers considered depending on position

Previous MUSC permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler

During hurricane season (June through November), all staff including contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
