Do you enjoy working with children and making a difference in the lives of families? Brave Kidz is seeking a dependable, caring, and safety-focused Driver / Transportation Aide to transport medically complex children to and from our pediatric day health center.
Position Summary
The Driver / Transportation Aide is responsible for safely transporting children between their homes, schools, medical appointments, and the Brave Kidz PPEC Center while providing a positive and supportive experience for children and families.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles and wheelchair-accessible vans
- Transport pediatric patients to and from the center
- Assist children with boarding and exiting vehicles
- Ensure proper use of seat belts, wheelchair restraints, and safety equipment
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and records
- Communicate professionally with parents, caregivers, and staff
- Support children with special healthcare needs during transportation
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and HIPAA requirements
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background screening and drug testing
- Experience working with children preferred
- Experience transporting individuals with disabilities or medical needs a plus
- CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Schedule
- Part-Time or Full-Time Available
- Typical hours:
- Morning Route: 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM
- Afternoon Route: 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM
- Monday through Friday
- No weekends
