Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that fosters literacy, math, Spanish, physical activity, and social-emotional growth in preschool-aged children
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management
- Plan and execute engaging lessons aligned with early childhood education standards and developmental milestones
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share progress, address concerns, and promote collaborative support for each child's development
- Maintain detailed documentation of child progress, behavior reports, and classroom activities in accordance with mandated reporting laws
- Manage classroom routines efficiently to ensure safety, cleanliness, and organization at all times
- Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support children with diverse learning needs
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by maintaining first aid and CPR certifications and following childcare best practices
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting, including classroom management and behavior management skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and literacy education techniques
- Experience with special education needs, early intervention programs, and standardized testing is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and community partners
- Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional credentials in early childhood education or childhood development are preferred
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate physical education, math activities, and creative play
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare is essential
- Demonstrated ability to foster a positive learning environment through effective classroom experience and childcare expertise
