Cardinal Staffing Services hiring an experienced Automation Technician for a union automotive manufacturing facility located in Warren, MI.
Oversee all activities related to process controls, maintenance, manufacturing, installation, support, documentation and testing activities of all equipment including, but not limited to, robotics, assembly, on-line fixtures, conveyor systems, etc.
B Shift-
- Wednesday - Saturday 4:30 pm - 3:00 am.
- Pay Starting at $32 an hour
- Contract to hire in 90 days with pay increases upon hire in
Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with Automation Engineers to ensure existing equipment is running in accordance to specifications. Including the troubleshooting, debugging, start-up and programming of all automated equipment and upgrades.
2. Technical expert for electrical circuits, program logic controls, robot programming, vision inspection and automation.
3. Coordinate the development in writing and maintain effective maintenance specification and preventative maintenance programs on all equipment to ensure top performance of equipment.
4. Participate with automation team in the design of Automated: machines, equipment, systems, devices and fixtures to support assembly requirements.
5. Recommend equipment improvements and/or manufacturing methods.
6. Support and assist maintenance personnel with diagnosing software and electrical system problems.
7. Support Maintenance with the repairs of equipment in the event of failure
8. Work closely with production, maintenance and engineering to establish optimized performance of all equipment.
9. Assist Automation Engineers in executing Engineering Change Requests (ECR) for appropriate equipment changes.
10. Execute continuous improvement strategies to reduce scrap cost and improve productivity and quality.
11. Assist in the preparation and execution of all new program launches, including supporting of all pilot build activities as needed.
12. Assist in determining resolutions to customer issues through the implementation of process and design changes as they relate to equipment.
13. Assist in the implementation of TS16949 objectives.
14. Support cost savings activities: problem solving cost saving analysis, root cause analysis, capital payback analysis, process manufacturing analysis, i.e. lean manufacturing VE/VA analysis.
Education and Experience:
1. Associate’s degree in engineering or related field and 3 years’ experience in manufacturing environment.
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience with automated equipment in a manufacturing environment
3. Experience PLC programming.
4. Experience in AutoCAD.
5. Solid understanding of principles used in multi-axis robotic systems, conveyor transport systems,
6. Strong “hands-on” capability in the installation and programming robotic and PLC controls systems in a manufacturing environment.
7. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills; customer focused
8. Understanding of manufacturing, assembly, sequencing and equipment principles
