Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to transport students safely to and from school and various events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, ensuring their safety. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage diverse groups of children.
Duties
- Safely operate a school bus or commercial vehicle following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding schedules, routes, and any concerns that may arise.
- Assist children in boarding and exiting the bus safely, providing support as needed.
- Educate students about safety procedures while on the bus.
- Manage behavior on the bus to ensure a respectful and safe atmosphere for all passengers.
- Document any incidents or issues that occur during transit in accordance with company policies.
Experience
- Previous experience in bus driving or commercial driving is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for interacting with students and parents effectively.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse student populations.
- A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements is required for this position.
