Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Field Asset Manager (FAM) to join our automotive service team. In this vital role, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and service operations of vehicles, ensuring high-quality standards and customer satisfaction. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and dealership procedures will drive efficiency and excellence across our service centers. Duties
- Coordinate and supervise vehicle repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics to ensure timely completion and quality standards.
- Utilize estimating software to prepare accurate repair estimates and communicate effectively with clients about services needed.
- Perform or oversee automotive diagnostics on various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, air brakes, shocks & struts, and diesel engines.
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, and auto body repairs to enhance customer satisfaction and dealership revenue.
- Manage service writing, client communication, and ensure proper documentation of work performed using computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
- Assist with dealership operations by supporting auto sales efforts through vehicle condition assessments and client consultations.
- Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining excellent customer service throughout the repair process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or in auto service management within a dealership or automotive repair setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repairs including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, oil changes, and diesel engine repairs.
- Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients about repairs and recommendations.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive various types of vehicles safely.
- Knowledge of collision repair processes, auto body repair techniques, and auto estimating procedures is preferred.
- Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and trust with customers.
