How It Works
When an appropriate patient becomes available in your preferred area, we'll provide the relevant case details. You decide whether the case fits your location and availability.
Once accepted, you coordinate visit times with the patient and provide treatment under the supervising PT's established plan of care.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled physical therapy treatment under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Carry out established plans of care
- Provide therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, functional training, and patient education as appropriate
- Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising PT
- Complete timely and compliant clinical documentation
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, and the care team
Requirements
- Active New York State Physical Therapist Assistant license
- Graduate of an accredited PTA program
- Reliable transportation
- Comfortable providing care independently in patients' homes
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Current CPR certification
New graduate PTAs are encouraged to apply. Support and mentorship are available.
