Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Chief of Police to lead our law enforcement agency with integrity, strategic vision, and unwavering commitment to community safety. Duties
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all police department functions, including patrol, investigations, traffic enforcement, community outreach, and administrative operations
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols aligned with local laws, ordinances, and best practices in law enforcement
- Oversee criminal investigations, evidence management, arrest procedures, search and seizure law compliance, and criminal law enforcement activities
- Manage departmental staffing, training programs—including use of force training, first aid protocols such as CPR—and physical conditioning initiatives to ensure readiness
- Supervise the preparation of detailed reports on incidents, investigations, arrests, and departmental activities; ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards such as procedural law and evidence law
- Coordinate with other agencies on joint operations involving surveillance, immigration law enforcement, loss prevention, security measures, animal handling in certain cases, and local ordinances enforcement
- Foster positive relationships within the community through outreach programs while maintaining high standards of conflict management and resolution skills
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in law enforcement or military service with a record of effective team management
- Extensive knowledge of criminal procedure, criminal law experience, traffic laws, evidence law, search and seizure law, procedural law knowledge, and local ordinances
- Demonstrated ability in criminal investigation techniques including surveillance operations and evidence collection
- Proficiency in report writing with attention to detail; ability to document incidents accurately for legal proceedings
- Strong understanding of firearms handling in law enforcement contexts and use of force policies
- Physical conditioning sufficient for demanding duties such as patrols or tactical responses; ability to operate standard passenger cars safely
- Certifications in first aid (including CPR), conflict management techniques, use of force training; familiarity with animal handling when necessary
- Knowledge of immigration law as it pertains to enforcement activities; experience in loss prevention or security is a plus
- Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively in high-pressure situations
