Responsibilities
- Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction
- Manage classroom behavior using positive discipline techniques and behavior management strategies
- Assist with homework help and tutoring to support academic growth
- Maintain a clean, organized environment conducive to learning and play
- Follow first aid protocols and respond promptly to minor injuries or emergencies using CPR or AED as needed
- Collaborate with team members to plan outdoor activities, youth group events, and special programs that foster community engagement
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain order in a dynamic setting
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare environments, including daycare or camp experience
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Ability to perform first aid procedures, CPR, AED operation, and adhere to safety protocols
- Excellent child supervision skills with a focus on behavior management and youth development
- Experience facilitating youth programs, sports coaching, theater activities or similar extracurriculars
- Effective team leadership abilities combined with teaching experience with young children or students
- Compassionate approach rooted in Christian counseling or similar values that support positive youth engagement
- Outdoor work experience preferred for supervising outdoor play and activities
