Friendship Botanic Gardens (“The Gardens”) is 105 acre garden park and nature preserve situated in a forested valley along the banks of Trail Creek. Founded in 1936, its grounds encompass mature forests, hiking trails, wetlands, and over a dozen formal gardens, along with sculptures and historic landmarks. The mission of the Gardens is to create a nature-filled sanctuary for all people, as we enrich our community through cultural, educational, and social events.
The Position:
Friendship Botanic Gardens is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Weddings & Events Assistant to support our Weddings & Events team. This position reports directly to the Weddings & Events Director and is essential for ensuring that weddings, rehearsals, ceremonies, receptions, and other events run smoothly. This position is not exempt from FLSA. The Gardens reserves the right to change job duties at any time. This job description is not designed to cover every job requirement.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Drive golf carts to transport guests as needed during weddings and events.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of event spaces, including tables, chairs, decor, and rentals.
- Coordinate with vendors and follow assignments as directed by the Weddings & Events Director.
- Preparation of bridal cabin, directional signs, golf carts, etc.
- Provide on-site support to ensure events run smoothly and according to plan.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability up to at least 25lbs.
- Experience in hospitality, event setup, or customer service.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Comfortable driving golf carts and performing physical tasks.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible to work late nights, weekends, and special event days.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
