Overview
Bear Lake Library Cleaner (Part-Time, approximately 2-5 hrs per week)
Manistee County Library is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Library Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for library patrons and staff at the Bear Lake branch location. The successful candidate will work independently to ensure library facilities are consistently clean and well-maintained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize public areas, staff workspaces, and restrooms.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
- Clean windows, glass doors, and other interior surfaces as needed.
- Restock restroom supplies and notify the appropriate staff when cleaning supplies need replenishing.
- Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to library management.
- Follow established cleaning procedures and safety practices.
- Perform other custodial duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming public facility.
- Previous custodial or cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Compensation: $13.73 per hour.
