POST HARVEST MANAGER

Position Summary
The Post-Harvest Manager oversees Vasquez post-harvest operations from harvest through finished, sale-ready inventory. This role manages harvest support, drying, curing, trimming, packaging, inventory accuracy, testing preparation, order fulfillment, and team productivity while maintaining compliance with Colorado cannabis regulations, Metrc requirements, company SOPs, and internal quality standards.
Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Minimum of 1 year of commercial cannabis cultivation, post-harvest, production, fulfillment, or inventory experience.

Prior post-harvest leadership, personnel management, inventory management, or production management experience preferred.

Knowledge of Metrc required; knowledge of LeafLink preferred.

Must be able to pass applicable background check requirements and obtain or maintain any required occupational licensing.

Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible hours based on harvest, production, fulfillment, and staffing needs.

High School Diploma or GED
Qualifications

Strong understanding of post-harvest practices, cannabis product handling, inventory control, packaging, and quality standards.

Ability to manage harvest flow, trim output, packaging priorities, testing preparation, and finished inventory availability.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced production environment.

Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to direct staff, resolve issues, and maintain a positive team environment.

Ability to follow and enforce company SOPs, safety standards, sanitation expectations, and regulatory requirements.

Detail-oriented approach to product tracking, labeling, documentation, and physical inventory accuracy.
Duties & Responsibilities
Post Harvest Operations

Manage post-harvest duties including harvest support, drying, curing, trimming, packaging, product transfers, waste handling, and facility sanitation.

Coordinate with cultivation leadership to prepare for upcoming harvests, including staffing, space readiness, batch organization, supplies, and workflow.

Manage post-harvest timelines to move product efficiently from harvest through drying, curing, trimming, testing preparation, packaging, and sale-ready inventory.

Review and improve production metrics, including trim productivity, packaging output, material usage, waste, spoilage, and turnaround time.

Maintain product quality and safe product storage practices to reduce risk of contamination, pest exposure, mold, degradation, or handling errors.

Identify bottlenecks in drying, trimming, packaging, testing, or fulfillment and communicate resource needs before delays impact product availability.
Inventory, Testing, and Compliance

Maintain accurate post-harvest inventory records in Metrc and internal inventory systems.

Perform regular physical inventory checks and assist with Metrc and LeafLink reconciliation.

Ensure inventory is accurately categorized by product type, quality tier, package status, testing status, and sales availability.

Function as the designated test batch processor or support test batch processing as assigned, including sample preparation and testing documentation.

Ensure product is accurately weighed, labeled, packaged, stored, and transferred in accordance with company procedures and applicable Colorado cannabis regulations.

Report inventory discrepancies, compliance concerns, labeling issues, or documentation errors to the appropriate manager promptly.
Packaging, Fulfillment, and Sales Coordination

Manage packaging operations, including weighing, labeling, organizing, and preparing product for wholesale, retail, sample, or internal production needs.

Support preparation of finished product formats, including bulk flower, packaged flower, shake/trim, preroll inputs, samples, and other approved product formats.

Coordinate with the sales team regarding product status, order readiness, sample needs, and fulfillment priorities.

Update inventory and order status in LeafLink as assigned, including marking orders fulfilled or shipped when appropriate.

Coordinate product manifests and transportation logistics with the appropriate Metrc or compliance manager to ensure documentation is accurate.

Communicate product availability, timing concerns, quality issues, or fulfillment constraints to the Operations Manager and Director of Cultivation.
Team and Resource Management

Supervise post-harvest staff, assign daily work, monitor productivity, provide coaching, and assist with corrective action when necessary.

Lead employees to follow company strategy, regulatory standards, safety expectations, and assigned production priorities.

Foster a communicative, respectful, productive, and safe work environment.

Communicate staffing needs, temporary labor needs, equipment issues, and supply needs to the Operations Manager and Director of Cultivation.

Manage post-harvest supply inventory and request restocking before shortages affect production.

Support open communication among departments, including cultivation, sales, compliance, fulfillment, and production partners.

Perform all other duties as assigned.
Key Performance Areas
Performance may be evaluated using operational goals and metrics, which may include post-harvest turnaround time, trim productivity, packaging output, inventory accuracy, Metrc compliance, testing preparation accuracy, order fulfillment timeliness, labor planning, waste reduction, product quality, and adherence to company SOPs.
Compensation

This position may be eligible for KPI-based bonus opportunities if a written company bonus policy is implemented in the future. Any such bonus opportunity would be subject to company policy, eligibility requirements, performance metrics, and management approval, and is not guaranteed compensation.

Working Conditions and Physical Environment
This position operates in a licensed cannabis cultivation and post-harvest production environment. The role may involve exposure to cannabis plant material, strong odors, cleaning agents, dust, humidity, variable temperatures, moderate noise, repetitive motion, prolonged standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and the use of tools, scales, packaging equipment, and inventory systems.
Must be able to lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation. Dexterity of hands and fingers is required to operate scales, packaging equipment, computers, tablets, printers, scanners, and other business or production equipment. Visual and color acuity are required for product inspection, label review, inventory verification, and document review.
