Position Summary
Campbellsville University Dining Services is seeking a talented and dependable Baker to join our culinary team. The Baker will be responsible for preparing a variety of fresh baked goods for students, faculty, staff, and campus guests. This position plays an important role in creating high-quality desserts, breads, pastries, and specialty items that enhance the dining experience across campus.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, cookies, cakes, pies, pastries, muffins, and other baked goods.
- Follow standardized recipes while maintaining consistency and quality standards.
- Assist with menu planning and development of seasonal and specialty bakery items.
- Decorate cakes and desserts for campus events and catering functions.
- Maintain proper food safety and sanitation practices in accordance with university and health department standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs to supervisors.
- Properly store ingredients and finished products to maintain freshness and quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Support special events, catering functions, and campus celebrations as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other Dining Services team members to ensure excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Previous commercial baking experience preferred.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food production methods.
- Ability to follow recipes and production schedules accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with large-batch production baking.
- Cake decorating and pastry preparation experience.
- Familiarity with catering and special event production.
- Culinary or baking certification is a plus.
