Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Support medical procedures by preparing patients for examinations or treatments and assisting healthcare professionals as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and ensuring secure handling of medical records within EMR/EHR systems.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health support.
- Assist with medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Facilitate patient transfers using appropriate methods such as patient transfer techniques or assistive devices like Hoyer lifts.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in acute care settings such as ICU, trauma centers, or emergency medicine units to deliver seamless patient care.
- Support patients in community-based settings by providing home & community care services tailored to individual needs.
- Engage in ongoing training related to infection control, CPR certification, basic life support (BLS), and other relevant certifications to ensure safe practices.
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification/license with current registration in the state of practice.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring hospice or palliative care.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology relevant to patient care across various specialties including medical-surgical, ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or post-acute settings.
- Experience in long-term care facilities or nursing homes is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices and manual handling protocols.
- Strong caregiver communication skills paired with a compassionate approach to patient service.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and infection control procedures essential for maintaining a sterile environment during clinical tasks like catheter care or phlebotomy.
- Certification in CPR/BLS required; additional certifications such as hospice care or dementia care are advantageous.
