Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Surgical Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterile instruments and supplies, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Assist the dentist during surgical procedures by managing dental instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear operative field
- Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging as needed, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Monitor vital signs and patient comfort throughout procedures, providing reassurance and support as necessary
- Manage medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
- Maintain an organized workflow by coordinating with the dental receptionist for scheduling and patient flow management
- Educate patients on post-operative care instructions and answer questions related to procedures or treatment plans
- Support general dentistry practices with chairside assisting across various specialties including pediatrics, endodontics, prosthodontics, and implant surgeries
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a focus on surgical procedures in a dental clinic setting
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for medical documentation and record keeping
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security
- Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining safety standards
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical coding, and electronic health records (EHR) systems is highly desirable
- Certification in Dental Assisting (such as CDA or RDA) preferred; additional training in pediatric dentistry or advanced surgical assisting is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and specialists
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
