Rate: $28.00+DOE & Certifications
Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:00pm, 30 min unpaid lunch
Overtime: Required as requested by management
Probationary Period: 90-Days

Summary Description
S3 Maritime has an immediate need to hire an experienced Marine HVAC / General Service Technician to support our growing operations in our Northern Service Area: Everett to Blaine.
S3 Maritime is a leading marine service provider, delivering repair, maintenance, and upgrade solutions to both commercial and recreational vessels. This position is ideal for a well-rounded marine technician with a strong HVAC background who is capable of supporting a wide variety of vessel systems while specializing in heating, cooling, and refrigeration.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with HVAC systems such as air handlers, chilled water systems, hydronic heating, diesel heaters, condensers, chillers, and marine refrigeration, while also possessing general mechanical aptitude across vessel systems including engines, plumbing, and auxiliary equipment.
Marine industry experience is strongly preferred but not required. Candidates with strong HVAC experience and an active EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) are highly encouraged to apply.

Core Responsibilities
HVAC & Refrigeration Systems
- Diagnose, service, and repair marine HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Perform system charging, evacuation, and leak detection
- Install and commission new HVAC systems and components
- Work with chilled water systems, compressors, and marine refrigeration units
- Execute proper refrigerant handling and EPA-compliant procedures
General Marine Technical Work
- Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems (engines, pumps, plumbing, etc.)
- Assist with vessel system upgrades and refits
- Support troubleshooting across multiple onboard systems
- Execute preventative maintenance and inspections
Project & Operational Support
- Generate accurate parts lists and assist with procurement
- Utilize ERP software for job tracking, costing, and reporting
- Complete service documentation and administrative paperwork
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and clients
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces (shop and field)
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems and components
- Active EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal preferred)
- Ability to use HVAC diagnostic tools, gauges, and charging equipment
- Mechanical aptitude across multiple systems (marine experience a plus)
- Ability to distinguish between repair vs. replacement solutions
- Experience with safe handling of refrigerants and hazardous materials
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Leadership capability or desire to grow into a lead role
- Proficiency with basic computer systems (ERP, Microsoft Office, etc.)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly
- Ability to work in confined spaces, engine rooms, and varying weather conditions
- Capable of climbing ladders and working on vessels in a boatyard or dock environment
