Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Basic Mechanic to join our automotive service team. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, and brake repairs with precision and efficiency.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics to identify necessary repairs.
- Repair or replace automotive suspension components, shocks & struts, and other mechanical systems.
- Perform transmission repairs and work on powertrain components to ensure smooth operation.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely to complete repairs.
- Assist with vehicle alignment, wheel balancing, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs needed.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to dealership or shop standards for quality assurance.
- Support vehicle maintenance schedules for various makes including GM vehicles when applicable.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repair orders.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry as a mechanic or technician.
- Dealership experience is highly desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive systems including electrical systems, transmission, suspension, brakes, and diesel engines.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment used for automotive diagnostics.
- Familiarity with ADAS calibration, air brake systems, and heavy equipment mechanics is a plus.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, auto body repair basics, and auto estimating processes is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
