The Interventional Radiology (IR) Physician Assistant is a highly skilled professional clinician who provides expert procedural and clinical care throughout the interventional radiology (IR) patient experience, including pre-procedural evaluation, intra-procedural support, and post-procedural management. The AHP practices in close collaboration with the interventional radiology attending physicians and interdisciplinary care team to promote excellent patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
This position requires flexibility for the APP to work at all UCSF Health facilities/locations
Required Qualifications
Graduation from a PA Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the PA (ARC-PA).
Five (5) years clinical PA experience with 2 of those years in a procedural, acute care, or specialty setting (e.g., radiology, interventional radiology, surgery, hospital medicine, critical care, oncology, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications
Prior OPPE/privilege documentation demonstrating competency in lumbar punctures.
Experience in neuroradiology, neurology, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, or critical care.
Experience working in an academic medical center or large integrated health system.
License/Certifications
1. California Physician Assistant (PA) License without restriction
2. National Board Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
3. California Driver License (if required for position)
4. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address
5. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
6. Additional required AHA certifications: ACLS
7. Additional required certifications (such as ENLS):None
UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
