The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Highway Design, has a part-time vacancy for an Engineering Technician V.
SUMMARY :
Mentors, coordinates, and conducts complex technical activities, including the planning, research, and design of a variety of engineering projects in the Bureau of Highway Design.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate's degree from a recognized college or technical institute with a major study in engineering, landscape architecture, forestry, horticulture, environmental studies, agronomy, geology, soil science or earth science. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Seven years of engineering experience, two years of which shall have been at a level equivalent to Engineering Technician IV. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
License/Certification: Valid driver’s license and access to transportation for use in statewide travel
Other Requirements: The applicant’s Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the hiring agency.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Mentors and instructs team members in the technical preparation of plans, specifications and estimates.
Trains team members in the development of technical skills, including CAD/D, to expedite the design process.
Monitors the daily progress of projects to meet schedules.
Communicates with other bureaus, federal, state and municipal agencies and public utilities to coordinate appropriate input into the projects.
Compiles and drafts reports, maintains records and files to provide project documentation.
Reviews contents of plans and documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with state and federal criteria.
Presents technical plans and details to team leaders and supervisors for approval.
Conducts training sessions and individual instruction for basic and advanced CAD/D usage
Participates in job sharing with other bureaus to identify application development needs and improve automated process workflow.
Performs work in full conformance with all risk management, safety, and environmental standards, regulations, and administrative orders.
