Superintendent - Commercial Construction
SUMMARY The Commercial Superintendent oversees daily jobsite operations for commercial construction projects. This role directs field crews, coordinates subcontractors, manages materials and equipment, enforces safety standards, and ensures work is completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. The Superintendent supports preconstruction planning, active construction, and project closeout.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Coordination - Communicate priorities, issues, and jobsite needs to the Project Manager.

Site Leadership - Prepare the site before work begins and ensure proper closeout each day.

Safety Oversight - Enforce OSHA standards and complete required safety documentation.

Crew Direction - Assign tasks, supervise field crews, and maintain productivity and quality.

Daily Operations - Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.

Scheduling - Maintain project schedules using construction scheduling software.

Documentation - Complete daily logs, timecards, toolbox talks, and other required reports.

Quality Control - Ensure work meets specifications and quality standards.

Problem Solving - Identify issues early and implement effective solutions.

Closeout Support - Assist with punch lists, as-built documentation, and warranty follow-up.

Travel Readiness - Travel to project sites as needed.
REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience in commercial construction.

Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, and Excel preferred.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.

Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.

Strong communication, coordination, and time management skills.

Ability to identify hazards and enforce safety regulations.

Ability to perform manual tasks and work in varying weather conditions.
