What we’re looking for:
The Delta Hotel by Marriott Santa Clara-Silicon Valley is seeking for a well-rounded, skilled and experienced Hotel Housekeeping Room Attendant who will provide great customer service and work in a hotel setting cleaning rooms. This position will be responsible for ensuring all assigned guestrooms, public spaces and laundry items are sanitized and serviced to high standards of cleanliness and ready for use by our guests. This position will report to the Housekeeping Manager.
What will this position be doing?
- Clean, sanitize, and prepare guestrooms for guest arrival
- Replace all used items in the guestrooms
- Change bed linen and make beds
- Replace used towels
- Sweep and mop floors
- Vacuum carpets
- Dust and polish furniture
- Replenish bath care products (e.g. soap and shampoo) and other amenities
- Empty trash and recycle items
- Check guestrooms and ensure everything is in good working order
- Report any technical issues and maintenance needs
- Update status of guestrooms on assignment sheet or a device
- Communicate with supervisors on room cleanliness and readiness
- Clean public areas, like corridors
- Address and help guests on their inquiries and provide immediate services as needed
- Help guests retrieve lost items
- Deliver items to guestrooms
- Ensure all assigned rooms are clean and tidy by the end of the shift
- Clean, maintain and restock cleaning carts
- Assists when and where needed (i.e. clean rooms, public spaces, and other areas of the hotel; do laundry, etc.)
- Perform other projects such as deep cleaning of projects, power washing of hallways, etc.)
- Welcome, take care and help all our guests
- Comply with cleanliness, sanitation, COVID-19 protocols and all safety and security standards
- Secure all guest rooms and protect guest privacy, confidential information and company assets
- Perform all job duties safety and report any hazards, accidents and injuries
- Follow hotel security guidelines
- Comply with personal hygiene, appearance and uniform standards
- Perform pre- and post-shift duties and other reasonable duties as requested by management
Qualifications:
- Work experience as a Housekeeping Room Attendant or similar role
- Experience with using industrial cleaning equipment and products
- Good physical stamina to maintain balance and safely stand, walk, lift, move, push, pull, carry, and place objects to include loaded housekeeping or laundry carts for entire shift at different buildings and floors with varying ground slopes
- Work indoors and outdoors with exposure to weather and change in temperatures when making rounds and performing housekeeping duties
- Flexibility to work different shifts and schedules, to include weekends and holidays
- Ability to work with little or no supervision while meeting high-performance standards
- Manage time, organize tasks, and prioritize multiple priorities
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and time-management skills
- Ability to listen, follow instructions, and work with little direction or supervision
- Work calmly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
- Remain flexible and adaptable to varying circumstances, demands and changes in work
- Begin each shift fully refreshed and prepared for any tasks
- Be reliable, punctual and be at work and on time
- Embrace change
- Communicate with guests, management, and staff verbally and by phone, in written format, and electronically
- Be able to work with computers, devices, tools and other equipment typically used in housekeeping
- Maintain a safe work environment using safety first practices to remain accident-free
- Attentive to details

- High school diploma is a plus
