Our manufacturing client in Irvington, NJ is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the rubber injection molding operations for medium voltage electrical products by optimizing production processes, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring high-quality output. This person will act as a "bridge" between product development and production.
Monday-Friday, start time 8am
Salary starting from $135,000/year, commensurate with experience
Must have experience or knowledge of injection molding
Responsibilities to include:
- Coordinate with production floor staff to identify and trouble-shoot issues, taking corrective and proactive actions to ensure quality.
- Utilization of CAD to create, modify, analyze, and optimize designs, significantly improving engineering productivity and design accuracy. Some small fixture design will be required.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify production issues related to quality, efficiency, or equipment failures; implement corrective actions effectively.
- Develop and maintain process control plans, inspection criteria, and SOP's for molded components.
- Collaborate with QC to investigate non-conformances.
- Participate in new product introduction and process qualification activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and reduce scrap and to improve automation and productivity.
- Lead project scheduling efforts for new product introductions and process upgrades, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
- Maintain detailed documentation of processes, schematics, and technical specifications in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering required
- 3+ years experience working within a manufacturing facility required
- Strong proficiency using CAD software required.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement strategies.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis using structured problem-solving techniques.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments including manufacturing operations and engineering teams. This position is integral to maintaining high-quality production standards while fostering innovation through advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Bilingual a plus
- Knowledge of rubber and/or plastic injection molding operations required. Direct experience greatly preferred.
