Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver high-quality patient care across various settings, including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise will help clients of all ages—ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics—achieve their functional goals through tailored therapy interventions. Responsibilities
- Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing personalized care plans for patients across multiple settings.
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility exercises.
- Provide therapy interventions for clients with childhood developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Help facilitate patient transport within facilities or to external appointments while ensuring safety through proper manual handling techniques.
- Contribute to documentation of patient progress, treatment notes, and care plans in accordance with medical terminology standards.
- Support patients recovering from acute care episodes by promoting functional independence and rehabilitation goals.
- Assist with patient education on therapy exercises and health maintenance strategies tailored to individual needs.
Experience
- Prior experience working in home health, inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or similar healthcare environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to occupational therapy practices.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, or childhood developmental delays is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and medical terminology enhances your ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to assist with ADLs and support patient care in geriatrics, pediatrics, or occupational health settings.
- Inpatient experience and outpatient clinic exposure are valuable assets for this role.
- Strong understanding of occupational therapy principles related to working with individuals with neurodevelopmental challenges or disabilities will set you apart as a candidate.

Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
