CNC Machinist / Programmer

About the Position
We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate has strong CNC machining experience, programming skills, and the ability to set up and operate CNC equipment independently.
This position is responsible for programming, setup, operation, inspection, and production of precision-machined parts while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters.
- Set up machines, including workholding, tooling, offsets, and fixtures.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make program or setup adjustments as needed.
- Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Work independently while meeting production schedules and quality requirements.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.
- Strong CNC programming and setup experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
- Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or both.
- Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, materials, speeds, and feeds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with G-code/M-code programming.
- Experience with CAM software.
- Experience with CNC controls such as Haas, Fanuc, Mazak, or similar.
- Ability to program directly at the machine.
- Experience machining a variety of materials.
- Experience with tight-tolerance or precision machining.
