Summary
The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of equipment, materials, tools, and supplies to and from construction job sites, vendors, and company facilities. This position primarily operates within the Carolinas region and is home most nights; however, occasional overnight travel may be required based on project needs and delivery schedules. The driver is responsible for maintaining compliance with all DOT regulations while ensuring timely deliveries that support field operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, lowboys, and equipment transport trailers.
- Transport construction equipment, materials, and supplies between company yards, vendors, and job sites.
- Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Secure loads properly using chains, straps, binders, and other approved load-securing methods.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, fuel records, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with dispatch, project teams, and field personnel to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment as needed.
- Comply with all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations and policies.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers, vendors, and project personnel.

Required Experience, Education, and Qualifications
- CDL Class A
- DOT Medical Certificate or the ability to obtain one on date of hire.
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
- Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/ job location(s).
- Ability to successfully pass a background check related to driving
- Ability to pass drug screening.
- Ability to lift up to 80lbs
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Work Environment/Physical Demand
- Ability to lift 80 lbs.
- This position works in a shop environment and occasionally travels to the field as required. This position requires long periods of standing.
Position type and expected hours of work
This is a full-time field position. This role requires working nontypical days and irregular hours based on construction schedules. Due to the critical nature of the role, accepting phone calls, even during non-typical workdays and hours, is also necessary.
