The Pre-K Teacher plays a vital role in creating a positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young learners. You will lead classroom activities, guide foundational learning, and prepare children for success in kindergarten.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery: Implement high-quality NM Pre-K daily lesson plans, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs and stages.
- Child Supervision & Care: Provide attentive, continuous supervision and guide children through daily routines, meals, and rest times.
- Inclusion & Behavior Management: Apply inclusive practices and positive behavior management strategies, supporting children of all learning styles and abilities (including those with special needs such as autism).
- Team Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively with co-teachers and directors to monitor student progress and maintain warm, professional communication with parents and guardians.
- Education & Certification Requirements: Because Kidz Academy is a high-quality NM Pre-K, FOCUS 5-Star Center, candidates must meet New Mexico state licensing requirements:
- Child Development Certificate (CDC): Must possess an active New Mexico Child Development Certificate (CDC) (Required).
- Ongoing Professional Development: Completion of 30 hours of New Mexico Early Childhood Education (NMECE) training within the first 90 days of employment.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of early childhood classroom or teaching experience.
- Essential Skills & Physical Requirements: CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain upon hire; training provided).
- Strong awareness of child safety and the ability to respond quickly to potential hazards.
- Ability to lift to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stay alert, active, and fully engaged with young children throughout the day.
- Sound decision-making skills regarding child safety and well-being.
- Creation of a physically, emotionally, and mentally safe environment for all children.
