Job Overview:
The Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 166, in partnership with our signatory contractors, is currently seeking EXPERIENCED HVAC technicians. Must be knowledgeable in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing of complex climate control and refrigeration systems.
Areas of expertise that we are interested in:
Heating Systems
Furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, radiant heat, and advanced energy-efficient solutions.
Refrigeration
Walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines, supermarket refrigeration, and process cooling.
Air Conditioning and Cooling
Central air systems, rooftop units, split systems, and high-efficiency upgrades.
Controls and Smart Technology
Integrated building management systems, programmable thermostats, and IoT-enabled controls.
Ventilation
Ductwork design, indoor air quality systems, and building automation controls.
Preventive Maintenance
Routine inspections, system optimization, and energy-saving tune-ups for maximum performance and reliability.

1st year apprenticeship applications are being accepted for the June 2027 class.
Graduates will earn a Department of Labor Journeyman’s card and an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from IVY Tech at no cost (a value of $50,000 to $70,000 scholarship).
Our apprenticeship is a free resource for all members with continuing education classes offered yearly.
Pay: Up to $47.11 per hour
