Summary: Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing company payroll, collecting and processing timekeeping information from various systems and issuing pay and pay-related information to employees.
Job Description:
- Review, approve and process timekeeping information and ensure accuracy. Take appropriate action where needed.
- Process payroll for 1300+ employees.
- Data maintenance in timekeeping system.
- Performs basic wage and hour compliance checks.
- Import, enter and reconcile labor costing.
- Process paid time off for hourly and salaried employees. Assist with auditing paid time off accruals.
- Review and process direct deposit accounts, deduction changes, withholding orders/garnishments and wage increases.
- Produce off-cycle manual checks.
- Process and produce payroll reports, pay stubs and pay information.
- Run 401k contribution reports and submit contribution payments.
- Process separation pay for departing employees.
- Research and answer questions from employees related to payroll topics including timekeeping, accounting system and paid time off.
- Assist with processing prevailing wage payroll, certified payroll and various reports related to prevailing wage work.
- Process and distribute yearly W2 forms to employees.
Desired Sills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience, labor costing preferred
- Advanced Excel and Outlook skills and experience
- Experience with payroll and electronic timekeeping systems
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Spanish speaking preferred but not required
Physical Demands:
Largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand for periods of time.
Pay: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour
