Position Responsibilities
As a Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper, you will:
- Process and maintain client bookkeeping records
- Perform bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports
- Assist with payroll tax compliance
- Prepare and file sales tax returns
- Work with QuickBooks Online and other cloud-based accounting applications
- Assist with tax return preparation and tax season support
- Communicate professionally with clients to obtain information and answer questions
- Assist with client accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative projects as needed
- Support special projects and firm initiatives as needed
Qualifications Required:
- 1+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or office administration experience
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Reliable, professional, and client-focused attitude
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
- Experience preparing sales tax returns
- Public accounting experience
- Experience using UltraTax
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting technology and client portals
