Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Weekend Over Night Caregiver to provide exceptional support to individuals in need of personal care and assistance during overnight hours on weekends. This vital role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being through attentive care and vigilant observation. Responsibilities
- Monitor residents’ safety and well-being throughout the overnight shift, including observing for any changes in health or behavior.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods.
- Administer medications accurately following care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary needs, supporting overall health and wellness.
- Conduct patient observations, vital signs checks, and patient monitoring to promptly identify any medical concerns or emergencies.
- Maintain detailed records of resident care activities, medication administration, and incident reports with clarity and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism.
- Familiarity with patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response procedures including CPR and first aid certification.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities support is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely while assisting residents with mobility or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe environment through cleaning duties and adherence to health standards.
- Knowledge of home & community care practices along with experience supporting geriatrics and social work principles is preferred.
