Marder Seafood is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Lead Quality Assurance Technician to help maintain our commitment to producing safe, high-quality seafood products. This position works closely with production employees to verify food safety, sanitation, quality, and workplace safety requirements while promoting a strong food safety culture throughout the facility.

What You'll Do
- Monitor daily production activities to verify compliance with food safety, sanitation, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Identify food safety, sanitation, and quality concerns and take appropriate corrective actions in accordance with company procedures.
- Verify implementation of HACCP plans, Critical Control Points (CCPs), and prerequisite programs.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections and verify sanitation effectiveness.
- Perform monthly ATP testing and coordinate quarterly product and environmental sampling.
- Review food safety and sanitation data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly food safety and quality documentation.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of OSHA compliance programs and workplace safety initiatives.
- Assist with employee training related to food safety, sanitation, HACCP, GMPs, hygiene, and workplace safety.
- Recommend retraining when opportunities for improvement are identified.
- Work closely with production personnel to promote a culture of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated seafood processing environment.
Preferred
- One to three years of experience in food manufacturing, seafood processing, quality assurance, or food safety.
- Experience with HACCP, GMPs, sanitation programs, or food safety systems.
- Previous HACCP training or certification is preferred but not required.
- Experience with ATP testing, environmental monitoring, inspections, or product sampling.
- Familiarity with OSHA workplace safety requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in refrigerated and wet processing environments.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
