Genetics Collector (Travel/Float)
Job Summary
RSL Medical Marketing and North West Labs is looking to add to our dynamic healthcare team with Travel/Float Specimen Collectors. You will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient collection of biological specimens across various clinical settings for genetic testing.

The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday with varying hours according to clinic assignment; typically falling within regular business hours (8/9am-5/6pm). This position is for a FLOAT. Location could vary from day to day, or week to week. No night shift or weekends.

Duties
- Use of computer to input patient information to screen for genetic testing.
- Collect oral specimens for the purpose of genetic testing.
- Process and label specimens accurately, following laboratory protocols and medical terminology standards.
- Transport specimens safely to designated laboratories, maintaining proper chain-of-custody documentation.
- Maintain inventory of collection supplies and maintaining cleanliness of collection areas.
- Maintain detailed records of specimen collection activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Experience in medical office or clinical laboratory settings with knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical terminology relevant to specimen processing.
- Ability to adapt quickly across multiple clinic and medical office environments while maintaining high standards of safety and privacy.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals and educating patients when necessary.
- Required to obtain HIPAA certification upon hire (provided)
- Punctual and reliable, consistently fulfilling work commitments.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check with no felony convictions
Willingness and ability to travel to locations within Wayne, Macomb, Washtenaw, and Oakland Counties
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
