POSITION SUMMARY:
Bartenders are responsible for providing hospitable service to Members while making and serving beverages. They will prepare and serve cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages for Members or service staff. The Bartender is thoroughly knowledgeable in all aspects of PM Lounge’s handcrafted beverages, wine list, specialty drinks and prices to be able to make recommendations to enhance the Members experience.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform station opening / closing duties each shift.
- Perform daily pour testing with manager to ensure proper pouring technique.
- Greet bar guests within 30 seconds of Member sitting.
- Take beverage orders from members while making drinks for all service staff and is knowledgeable in bar recipes, preparing cocktails and other drinks, serving wine, draft and bottled beer.
- Make recommendations to Members based on thorough knowledge of PM Lounge’s beer, wine, food, and beverage offerings.
- Speak to members to ensure satisfaction with food, drinks, and service.
- Present bills, accept payments, operate POS system, upholding strict cash handling procedures and accountability for all transactions.
- Able to respond to member complaints.
- Check identification of members in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
- Clean bars, work areas, bar equipment, remove dishes and glasses from bar and take to dish area for cleaning.
- Ensure 100% compliance with all company policies and laws, including health and safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management staff.
- Assist in the training of other staff.
- Complete daily task list and review with management on a weekly basis.
- Communication with direct supervisor of any other job-related functions may interfere with the ability to perform any of the above tasks in an efficient, professional, and productive manner.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Must be 21 years of age or over
- Experience in high end restaurant, hospitality, or food service environment preferred
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and business-required shifts
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and management
- Ability to quickly learn, retain, and apply operational procedures, menu knowledge, and service standards
- Ability to accurately read, understand, and follow recipes, preparation procedures, and service guidelines
- Current California Food Handler Card, ServSafe Certification, or equivalent food safety certification as required by applicable law
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during 8-hour shift scheduled shifts
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to perform repetitive movements including bending, reaching, stooping, and carrying trays or service items, shakes, stirs, pours as required during normal job duties
- Able to handle cash, give change and balance cash drawer at the end of shift.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position works in a hospitality and event environment that requires standing and walking for extended periods; frequent bending, reaching, carrying, and moving equipment; and lifting to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
