As a CNC / Manual Lathe Operator II, you'll play a key role in producing high-quality precision components while maintaining our commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities include:
- Set up, operate, and monitor manual and CNC lathes to machine precision components.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts using proper fixtures and tooling.
- Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and minor program edits as needed.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, GD&T specifications, and work instructions.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot machining issues to maintain productivity and quality.
- Perform routine machine maintenance checks and report equipment concerns.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Follow all safety procedures while keeping a clean and organized work area.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training is a plus).
- Minimum of 3 years of manual lathe machining experience required.
- Experience operating CNC lathes; live tooling experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of precision measuring equipment, including analog and digital micrometers and calipers.
- Experience performing machine setups, tooling changes, and quality inspections.
- Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Overhead crane experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while operating machinery.
- Manual dexterity to safely operate equipment and precision measuring instruments.
