About the Role
As a Shift Lead, you are a Key Holder responsible for opening and closing the café, leading daily operations, and ensuring every shift runs efficiently. You will be the example your team follows by delivering excellent customer service, maintaining food quality, coaching employees, and supporting the Café Manager.
What You'll DoLeadership
- Lead, coach, and motivate Crew Members throughout each shift
- Create a positive, respectful, and productive work environment
- Delegate responsibilities and ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Train and support new team members
- Communicate effectively with management and staff
Operations
- Open and/or close the café as a Key Holder
- Ensure all Tropical Smoothie Café brand standards are consistently met
- Supervise daily café operations to maintain efficiency and productivity
- Monitor labor, food costs, waste, and operational performance
- Ensure proper cash handling and security procedures are followed
- Coordinate repair and maintenance needs with the General Manager and Area Director
Guest Experience
- Deliver "Unparalleled Hospitality" to every guest
- Lead by example through positive energy and exceptional customer service
- Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly
- Build a welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back
Food Quality & Safety
- Ensure all food and smoothies are prepared according to franchise recipes and quality standards
- Monitor portion control to reduce waste and control costs
- Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who:
- Is at least 18 years old
- Has a High School Diploma or GED
- Is legally authorized to work in the United States
- Has previous restaurant experience (preferred)
- Has previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Can multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Is dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Leads by example with professionalism and integrity
- Has flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Pay: $10.25 per hour
