Job Summary
At Renaissance Health, we are seeking a highly motivated, empathetic, and organized Bilingual Patient Care Coordinator/Receptionist to be the welcoming face and voice of our practice. In this role, you will bridge cultural and communication gaps, manage patient scheduling, and assist individuals in navigating their healthcare options. Because we provide full training on our electronic medical records (EMR) systems and clinic protocols, no prior medical industry experience is necessary. Although, experience is welcomed. We value integrity, personality, communication skills, and language proficiency!
In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and passionate about supporting patient care through excellent office management and personal skills. Duties
- Greet patients (English and/or Spanish) warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression
- Schedule patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Advanced MD, Epic, or Athenahealth
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility, prior authorizations, and benefits verification
- Collect and process patient payments and medical collections accurately
- Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently
- Maintain and update patient records in electronic medical records (EMR) systems while ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Handle administrative support tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10-key typing), and managing medical records
- Support office management activities like appointment reminders, follow-up calls, and clinic scheduling
- Ensure compliance with health information management standards and confidentiality protocols
Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Experience
- Previous clinic or medical office experience is preferred
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Advanced MD, Athenahealth is essential
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines
- Experience with insurance verification processes and medical billing practices
- Bilingual abilities are essential to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with multi-line phone systems
- Ability to handle clerical tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and data entry
