The Role
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Operations team. In this role, you’ll support the day-to-day operations that help deliver an exceptional client experience while gaining valuable exposure to the financial services industry. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, professional environment and is known for being organized, dependable, and eager to learn. This part-time internship also includes a structured rotational learning program designed to provide exposure to NorthRock’s core business functions.
Due to the nature of this internship, candidates must be located in the Minneapolis–St. Paul metropolitan area, as the role requires an in-office presence at our downtown Minneapolis office. This is a part-time internship with a consistent schedule of approximately 20 hours per week during standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
What You’ll Do

Collaborate with Operations Associates to support and improve internal processes and workflows

Assist with client meeting preparation and related documentation

Submit and track client paperwork through custodial systems

Scan, organize, and maintain accurate client records

Participate in a structured rotational study program covering NorthRock’s core business disciplines

Complete a capstone project by developing a financial plan for a fictitious client

Build relationships with professionals across departments to gain business insight

Support administrative and operational projects as needed
What You Bring
-
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (Junior or Senior standing preferred)

Demonstrated interest in financial management, financial planning, or investment services

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment

Professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and a desire to learn

Must be authorized to work in the United States

Successful completion of a credit and criminal background check is required
Compensation & Benefits
The hourly rate for this role is $22.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for Employee Sick & Safe Time (ESST). For more details on ESST, visit the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry's website.
