American Technical Publishers is searching for a temporary Summer editorial intern. An editorial intern focuses on supporting efforts in the development of technical training material while learning about the operation of the editorial department. An intern will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on experience in the publishing industry.
Responsibilities:
- Quality control online resources and webbooks
- Scan content and material
- Convert InDesign files and PDFs to Word documents to prep for editing
- Input content/corrections into manuscript
- Check printer proofs
- Aid in spec’ing changes to documents
- Create PDFs using Adobe® Acrobat
- Assist in other production duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Familiar with Adobe® Creative Cloud software and Microsoft Suite software
- Detail-oriented with a desire to learn
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work as a team member
Education and/or Training:
Enrolled in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program in English, communications studies, technical communication, and/or a related fieldon experience in the publishing industry.
