Job Summary:
The Garde Manger (Salad/ Fruit Platter Maker) is responsible for preparing, assembling, and presenting high-quality cold food items, including salads, fruit platters, vegetable trays, sandwiches, dressings, and other cold dishes. This role ensures food quality, freshness, presentation standards, and compliance with food safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble salads, cold appetizers, sandwiches, wraps, and other cold food items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Create and arrange attractive fruit platters, vegetable trays, and specialty displays for service, catering events, and customer orders.
- Wash, peel, cut, slice, and portion fruits and vegetables while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Prepare dressings, garnishes, and ingredients needed for daily production.
- Ensure all prepared foods meet company standards for freshness, quality, taste, and presentation.
- Package and label prepared items accurately for display, storage, or customer purchase.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management when ingredients and supplies need replenishment.
- Label, date, and rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation, equipment, and food preparation areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing deliveries according to food safety standards.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting production schedules and customer demands.
- Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Provide excellent customer service and accommodate special requests when needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in food preparation, deli, salad production, catering, or kitchen operations preferred.
- Experience preparing fruit platters, vegetable trays, and cold food displays is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
- Ability to safely use knives, slicers, and other food preparation equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, food presentation, and portion control.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30–50 pounds.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
