American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-acuity, high-volume PACU position requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience and a NH or compact RN license.

High-acuity, high-volume PACU in a hospital setting with frequent overnight boarding of ICU, step-down, and med-surg patients
-
Diverse surgical patient population including vascular (carotids, AAA repairs), thoracic (esophagectomy), neuro (craniotomies, neurostimulators, trach), general, gynecology, orthopedic, kidney transplants, and Whipple procedures

Day/night rotation with variable start times: 0700, 0800, 0900, 1000, 1100, and 1900

Ventricular drain management is performed; patients requiring ICP monitoring are transferred directly to the ICU

Requires proficiency with arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, trachs, and vasoactive and sedative drips

Active NH or compact RN license required

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma center

Previous high-acuity PACU and/or ICU experience strongly preferred

Proficiency with arterial lines, central lines, ventricular drains, chest tubes, trachs, and vasoactive/sedative drip management required

Two professional references from managers required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position

Evening hours are described as controlled chaos, requiring strong prioritization and adaptability skills

PACU regularly boards high-acuity overnight patients, including post-craniotomy ICU-level cases
