Position Summary:
65-85k depending on experience
Mon-Friday-6am or 7am start time.
The Cabinet Detailer/Drafter is responsible for creating all construction drawings including 2D CAD details, 3D CAD details, and CNC part layouts for the fabrication of various projects. In this role, you will work directly with project managers, the sales team, field supervisors, and production supervisors to turn concept designs into functional drawings, programs and cut lists that will be sent out to production.
- A successful detailer will know drafting, design, understand libraries in cabinet vision, including use of catalogs, bills of materials, cut lists, and optimization of parts
- Understands ADA requirements and how they influence job design and product tolerances
- Able to take appliance selections, electrical cut-outs, soffits, and other functional and dimensional matters into account when designing cabinet layouts
- Know how to interpret field changes from measurement
- Understand lot/unit options vs standard and constructively manage them
- Follow company standards and procedures adopted by the company for detail
- Develop masters for all plans on a project which can be utilized for future phase releases of production
- Have interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with the sales team on revisions/corrections and communicate with team members (and superintendents when needed) to resolve issues
- Identify design issues which could prevent successful manufacture of product and articulate solutions which would alleviate them
- Be able to follow internal audit procedures and checklists for review prior to releasing jobs into production
Qualifications:
- 5+ years job experience in a similar role
- Construction/Millwork/Cabinet Manufacturing industry experience
- Knowledge of 20-20, Cabinet Vision, and/or similar CAD design software. Cabinet Vision preferred
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in written communications in English
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety guidelines and procedure manuals
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and architectural drawings
- Above average math skills, can work with fractions easily, and understands metric
- Ability to read a tape measure and convert nominal measurements
- Good statistical and numerical ability
- Ability to work as a part of a team
- Have significant understanding of S2M
- The ability to create/modify catalog items is a definite plus
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per hour
