Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including specialty coffees, teas, and smoothies, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
- Operate the square POS to process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, taking orders, answering questions, and providing recommendations to enhance their experience.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area by regularly cleaning equipment, counters, tables, and food handling surfaces in accordance with food safety standards.
- Handle cash transactions with precision, process payments, give change, and balance cash drawers at the end of shifts.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as needed for customer orders.
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests.
Skills
- Experience as a Barista or in food service roles within cafés or the food industry is a plus.
- Strong ability to follow and remember recipes off the top of your head.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and processing transactions accurately.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
