Position Summary
River View Companies is seeking a dependable and hardworking Groundskeeper to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of a church and school campus. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming, clean, and well-maintained environment for parishioners, students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors, and is committed to maintaining the campus to the highest standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform daily grounds inspections and maintain the campus’s overall appearance.
Pick up trash and debris throughout the property each morning and as needed throughout the day.
Clean and maintain the dumpster and waste collection areas.
Remove litter, leaves, branches, and other debris from sidewalks, parking lots, playgrounds, and landscaped areas.
Pull weeds, water flowers and landscaping, and assist with seasonal grounds maintenance.
Sweep sidewalks, curbs, entrances, and outdoor gathering areas.
Monitor campus grounds and report maintenance concerns.
Check exterior lighting and replace light bulbs as needed.
Maintain handrails, benches, signage, and other outdoor amenities.
Assist with event setup and breakdown as requested.
Power wash sidewalks, building entrances, and other campus areas as needed.
Assist with snow and ice removal during inclement weather, when applicable.
Support the maintenance team with light repairs, painting, and other assigned projects.
Assist with deliveries and the movement of furniture or equipment as needed.
Help maintain a clean and professional appearance throughout all church and school facilities.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
What You Bring to Us
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Previous groundskeeping, janitorial, landscaping, facilities, school, church, or property maintenance experience preferred.
Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities.
Ability to lift to 40 pounds and perform physical activities including walking, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and attractive environment.
Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
