Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems across various properties. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical knowledge, hands-on experience with HVAC and related systems, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Diagnose and repair HVAC system malfunctions using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Install new HVAC equipment in accordance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct plumbing repairs related to HVAC systems and ensure proper integration with mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues within HVAC/R systems and perform electrical diagnostics to identify faults.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders accurately, and document repairs for compliance purposes.
- Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to perform equipment repairs and system upgrades.
- Collaborate with property managers and clients to address maintenance needs promptly while providing excellent customer service.
- Follow EPA regulations for refrigerant handling and ensure environmentally compliant practices.
- Support field service operations by responding efficiently to service calls and emergency repairs.
Skills:
- Proven experience in construction or property maintenance with a focus on HVAC systems.
- Service technician experience specializing in HVAC repair, installation, and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of schematics, mechanical drawings, and HVAC design principles.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration where applicable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to plumbing, boiler operation, and mechanical systems repair.
- Electrical diagnostics skills including troubleshooting electrical systems within HVAC/R units.
- Proficiency with hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments.
- Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and electrical systems integration.
- Experience in equipment troubleshooting across diverse mechanical platforms.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a <PERSON> driver vehicle safely.
- Relevant certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional credentials in HVAC/R or appliance repair are advantageous.
- Mechanical or mechanic experience complemented by construction background enhances versatility.
